1. Network Overview
The Spin Bridge has 3 network interfaces.
Usage | Default IP Address | Configurable | Note
Wireless Hotspot | Access Spin Interface from browser | 10.42.0.1 | No | SSID: SpinBridge-XXXX Password: spinbridge |
Wired External Network port | Update the SpinBridge. Access Spin Interface by web-browser. Connect robot to SpinBridge via LAN | Automatic (DHCP) | Yes
Wired Robot port | Connect robot to Spin Bridge | 192.168.37.1 | No |
The three networks are isolated from each other. So you cannot use the wireless hotspot or the robot port to access your local network.
2. Wireless Hotspot
Use this connection method to access the Spin Interface.
- From your PC go to wireless settings and connect to the network "SpinBridge-XXXX", where XXXX are the last 4 digits in the Spin Bridge's serial number.
- Password: spinbridge
- Open a web-browser and go to the ip address 10.42.0.1
You can use the wireless hotspot as a fallback connection for accessing the SpinInterface if you do not know the IP-address of the SpinBridge.
3. Wired External Network Port (1. Ext. Network)
Use this connection method to connect the Spin Bridge to your local network switch. Via you local network you have access to the Spin Interface web-interface. Additionally you can put the robot on the same network and access the SpinBridge from the robot this way. You can configure the network settings by following this guide:
- Follow the Wireless Hotspot guide above to connect to the Spin Interface (This way you will not loose the connection to the Spin Interface when you change the configuration).
- Go to Settings/Network Settings
- Choose 1. Ext Network
- Enter the network settings.
Software Updates: The Spin Bridge cannot receive updates from Spin Robotics without internet and a valid Default Gateway and nameserver (DNS).
